Why buy a Step By Step Signature Moss Basket?
All our baskets (moss and regular) are filled with specialty annuals propagated from cultured stock (vs. seed) — assuring the customer lasting performance through fall if taken care of properly. The planting process is extremely labor intensive. Every moss basket has several different varieties of plants, many of which are planted into the side of the basket. In the 18” premium moss flower basket, the plant count adds up to 24 plants! Each one of our baskets has 6 to 8 weeks growing time in our state-of-the-art, heated greenhouse. During these weeks, our greenhouse team properly maintains, waters, fertilizes, and deadheads the flowers to produce a strong, continuously-blooming basket!

Color combo moss hanging baskets
Planted in moss, these beautiful flower baskets are full of flowers, on the tops and sides (there are over 24 plants in our 18"). Premium soil makes these baskets more weather resistant and help them retain moisture, to help your flowers thrive. They will continue to fill out and bloom all season long, often well into October. Available in 14”, 16” and 18” baskets.

Our Specialty Annual Flower Baskets are grown in standard baskets (not moss). These beautiful flowers are a similar design to our moss baskets but planted in black pots. Our non moss combo baskets are a little easier to take care of and a little less expensive. Great for beginning gardeners or those with a busier schedule. Available in 14” baskets only.

About Our First Greenhouse
GROWING WITH A PURPOSE: Entry-Level Workforce Preparation Program & Vocational Training
Our greenhouse is one of multiple social enterprise businesses operating onsite that provide job training and workforce experience opportunities for Step By Step moms through our job training program.
In 2024, our second greenhouse will be done so we can grow more flowers as well as seasonal fresh produce to support our onsite social enterprises and Dreams Work Job Training Program! Come visit us in the greenhouse every spring to pick up your hanging flower baskets and shop potted plants for your yard. We can’t wait to see you!
